Here’s an example:
Cancel culture is stupid. “Canceling” cancel culture is equally stupid. (Especially because Sri Elon here, doesn’t really mean that cancel culture has been canceled — he actually means that a new team is now in charge of who gets canceled. But even if he were more principled and actually meant what he said, that would still be exactly as stupid as cancel culture.)
Forcing people into two rigid social roles on the basis of their biological sex is stupid. Pretending that biological sex does not exist and forcing people into a myriad of rigid social roles, and requiring individuals and society to conform to this ever expanding set of fantasy “genders” is equally stupid.
Assuming that everyone in some human-defined collective of humans (based on race or gender or beliefs or birth geography or whatever) all share the exact same set of values, thoughts, beliefs, desires, needs, and abilities is stupid. Basing human laws and trying to structure human society on such assumptions is stupid.
Trying to control or legislate what people think, feel, believe, and say is completely stupid. And it’s stupid in two very important ways:
It does not (cannot) work.
The attempt distorts human psyches and human society in a way that makes the energy behind the thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and speech that you are trying to control become toxic (or more toxic) and then that energy readily comes out in ways that are far more destructive than words.
If you are someone who believes that you know a way to live that is better than another way, your job is not to try to force your better way down everyone else’s throat. Your job is to live your life in your way and be an attractive example of how much better your way is as a service to humanity.
Pro tip: attractive does not mean repulsive.
On a related note: bureaucrats are the bane of human civilization.
